I got my PCM flashed by Jody Diesel tuning products for Ford PowerStroke 60 Tow 6 years ago .... with the POS E4OD ....Imagine that ....
Solid Reliabilty.... in Extreme Service....
I have a 2002 E350 ext van with the 7.3
I installed a superchip about 8 years ago.
Definitely more power and has a towing safe mode.
It does smoke a little and i get check engine light sometimes.
Hope this helps.
Does anyone out there know where to find performance parts/tuners for a 2002 E450 that is prepped with the ambulance package. I am trying to make it a tow vehicle for transport business. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Is it a diesel? If so, i wouldn't drop too many performance mods on it, they already pull strong. Maybe a beefier transmission cooler (replace factory air to oil, not in addition too), air bags to keep it level (but not overloaded) and consider a roadmaster system. Properly rated tires, and checking the engine is in good health with airfilter, batteries, transmission fluid, etc.
After that, then maybe consider a mild tune. Ford de-rated the 7.3L in the vans because they lack cooling to operate at the same level as pickups. That, and longevity as the vans tend to run with a higher GVWR day-to-day than pickups.
