Transmission compatibility???
I have a 1994 2.3l 4cylinder xlt ford ranger regular cab Manuel transmission. My transmission is going out. I found an 04 ford ranger Manuel transmission off a v6 will this be compatible? And if not what years will be? Thanks for any help y'all can give me.

Check with a wrecking yard in your area for the transmission that you need. They can tell you what year trucks would have the same as yours and how to identify each type. A lot of them had the Mazda gear box but a Mitsubishi was used for them as well. You may need to check with more than one yard. Some aren't very helpful at times. May need to try an independant transmission shop for info too. They will be more helpful than a chain store shop. I'm not saying that you need to buy anything from these places. It can be a good source for being able to identify what you have and what you need and what to look for.
