Lost power steering
Lost power steering
Sprung a leak in my high pressure hose at the fitting. Power steering worked fine. I replaced the line and now I have no power steering. I know when I pulled the line off I lost a lot of fluid, but the reservoir is still full and it does not lower like one would think if the pump is refilling. Is there a trick to bleeding this system?
Jack up the truck and suspend it on jack stands so that you can freely move the wheels full left and right......
In sure that the P/S reservoir is at the full mark..... start engine and then move steering wheel full left (or right) and then opposite way...... return to center. Check and fill reservoir as required..... go thru the steering motion again and the return to center, check fluid, refilling as nesessary until it no longer requires fluid. It SHOULD then be ok.
