Emissions

Replaced DPFE sensor and Vacuum solenoid. With vacuum hose removed from EGR valve, still have 3" vacuum on vacuum hose.

Is this correct, or should it be 0". Is new vacuum solenoid defective?

Engine pings, and engine light comes back on.

Take your truck to an auto parts store that offers free trouble code reading. Make note of the codes that appear and list them here. That will give us some information to help you solve the problem.

Also, unless you used a genuine OEM DPFE, you are likely to have issues. The aftermarket ones are just not accurate.

Hooked up vacuum guage to line from EGR valve, at idle showed 3" vacuum, drove to 30 mph and it increased to 12" vacuum, at deceleration it dropped back to about 3". Took the selonoid back and got a new one.
This time it started out at 0-1" vacuum, increased to 12, then dropped back to 0-1". So far light is out, will post if it comes back on and get the code for check engine.

Thanks for any replies!
