Had a issue with the front seal leaking had a friend help me pull it and swap seal and front bushing in pump and new convertor as that is what the general opinion was to do. Anyway drove it to work after doing so and back, then the next day got 40 miles into my trip and hear and feel cluncking noise and now feels like the brakes are on pull over look nothing so proceed to return home shifts fine 1-3 when it shifts to od feels like the brakes are on again mash od button and stops acting up drove all the way home like that but as soon as you turn on the od it slows done til u turn it off?? Help please!!
The torque converter is not locking up. You need to find the problem or it will burn the transmission up.
Check all your dash lights, rear brake lights and make sure you don't use any LED's in the the rear braking lights. The CPM monitors the brake lights and will think the brakes are on. This will cause the TC to unlock. So will a bad sensor or wire.
Also you can have the transmission going into limp mode. I have seen where the OD button goes bad as well.
I heard that the alternator going bad makes them act funny.
