08 SD door cracked.
Since I bought my truck it has had a strange rattle in the drivers door. It sounded like the lock rod was flopping around, so I wasn't too concerned. Well, a few nights ago I got around to peeling off the plastic to take a look. At the bolt that holds the bottom of the rear window track (driver door), there was a 3-4" crack 1-2" to the left of the bolt. And the fender washer for the bolt had a crack all the way around it, save 1/4". If you pressed that area, it made the popping/rattle sound I had been hearing. I ground it down and welded both cracks. And added a larger fender washer. Cured the rattle, for now anyway. Is this a fluke? Searched around here, didn't see where anybody else had mentioned it. Of course, if it can go wrong, it will go wrong, on my stuff.
