Make sure you do this with the engine leaned out such that it barely runs. If you don't, the jump will not be noticeable and you will not solve your problem.

well there is no vacuum leak around the intake manifold or carburetor, and no vacuum leaks anywhere else for that matter, any other possibilities?? i just dont understand why it would just all of a sudden start this noise. i ran it for like a week after i got it running again, and then t jsut randomly started

take the belts off one at a time maybe it's a pulley somewhere

well i went digging deep into the threads and found that smoken choken had the same issue, well long story short i replaced the base gasket under my carb, and wala the whistling stopped!!
