Rear slider window - quick and easy fix

Sometime back, I noticed that the vertical metal frame piece, which is located on the end of the passenger side movable glass [nearest the driver], would come loose from the glass pane. This is the piece which is locked by the latch.

I had a tube of black silicone RTV and carefully applied a small amount along the groove where the glass slid into and then slid the glass into the correct position. The window was left closed for a day so the RTV could cure. This repair has proven quite satisfactory and has held up for months.

I have that same problem with both pieces; haven't tried to deal with it yet, though, thanks for the idea.

I just hate it when you go to close the slider and the trim piece goes flying.

Good idea!!
