October G2G?

OK boys and girls, with Rich being in country for 30 days or so, and the impending danger of losing Uncle Bob and/or Kabluey, the general consensus is that we should do SOMETHING while Rich is home and Bob is still here.

...what do we want to do?

Assuming the weather holds, we can do a meet and greet for BBQ and general BSing...there's been a lot of talk about SMORR, does anybody know if they'll be open and running during October?

For the moment, let's just post thoughts and ideas as we all know that Rich's travel plans sometimes change...but I know that we'd all like to see him while he's home.

I'm not opposed to a SMORR gathering. I just have to get my front axle fixed. I'd do a few trail rides, but I don't really feel like washing two tons of mud off the bottom of my truck. (yeah, I know, but this IS my daily driver too. I can't afford to break it)

BBQ is always a winner, too. Nothin' wrong with good friends, good food and cool trucks!

Oops. I forgot to mention another option...we can all go to Bob's house and take turns driving over his mailbox...

I have my dates (7 Oct-8 Nov) to be home and I think they are solid, but what ever you all plan, we (wife and I) will be there if I am in country.

Penny and I have a wedding to attend to on 28 Oct (sun) and 3/4 nov is my last week end home before I am gone for a bit, and I am always busy with stuff around the house, so pretty much any other time would work. But I'll make a 3/4 Nov if thats the only option.

I really think it all depends on Unk Bob's status.......and he is not due back till?? SMORR sounds like fun, but not all of us have trucks to go have fun in.

So I am good with what ever anyone else plans, short of driving over Bob's mail box, thats all you Terry. Another thing to consider is location, we have met at Lake of the Ozarks x2, Table Rock State Park x1, Spg zoo x1 and the Jamboree.

So where ever you all think post it up.... And yes we all understand the cost of fuel/getting a day off work/baby sitter/ect... just post up some ideas on dates and location.

We will kick it around and end up making Terry the chapter leader make the call, haha.

This sounds cool, Alan has Ol Big Red in the finishing stages, so im IN. Bbq, or Smorr, or Both at Smorr sound good to me.

I may take er Easy on Ol Big Red and just watch out there, because as Alan knows there will be lots more small TLC for me to work on, and since my daily driver is now sitting at Alan's too, im not going to have much extra $ to do, it, but Red will be drivable!!!

Heck im in if it is just going out to Rich's in force to all help him get more of his "list" of stuff done while he is home. Im sure with the knowledge here we can all come together and get mist of it done in a small amount of time. Jeff

Appreciate the offer to help, but my "list" is THEROPY for me, lol. Besides we will have plenty of time to wrench around here soon, as my contract comes to a end.

Lets make this one a relaxing G2G, unless you really want to come up here and help? I think we need to go to Alan's and help with the 66 or at least set and watch him. LMAO

I don't work with people here. I hate when people watch me work. The whole time Jeff was here I didn't touch a wrench and then the guy with the '56 Chevy pick up stopped by, so I didn't start working until, ...like, ....1630?

To clarify, I don't mind talking hotrods or trucks. That just means I'll have to work a little longer into the night to catch up.

As far as the G2G goes, I'm flexible. Give me a date, time and coordinates and I'm there.

They just might charge everyone to just be in the park, even if you don't hit the trails. You all might check into that.
Personaly. I'm not going to hit any trails in any form til I can drive my Jeep on them.

Guys - I'm game for just about anything. I'll keep an eye on developments and toss my nickel's worth in from time to time.

Lee great to see you are still with us too, how have you been?

And good call on the entrance fee to SMORR, so if we are not going to go wheeling, then a free place to meet sounds even better.

I'm fine, just been too busy, plus I haven't had anything to say in the few minutes I have to come here.

If you all want another GTG in Springfield there's a park just off of Bennet and National by the art musium that has covered areas and BBQs.
I'm having a brain fart as to the name of the park or the street name.

My schedule changes next week to a "normal" Monday-Friday job, so saturday's and sunday's from now on would work for me.

I dont have a trail rig, so SMORR might be out of the question if only 1 or 2 fella's want to go off-road.

Location doesnt matter to me, so long as I can be back(KC) at a reasonable time sunday evening. I'm ok with pitching in for the grill items, and I have a portable camping grill(gas) if I need to tote it along.

Be nice to finally meet some of ya'll.

As a thought since some are from the KC area there is a park in Bolivar that might be more central. I think alcohol would be limited however.
