Asking for a friend of mine who just picked up a sweet '04 with the 6.0. He as started having intermittent power loss problems that seem to come up only when the engine is warm and he is pulling is lawn service trailer. The truck does have the Banks Power Pack and the controller is showing codes po263 and po284. I am not real good at the diesel troubleshooting but told him I know where we could get the answers! Looking forward to your advise. Thanks.

First off, ditch the Banks...the transmission will live allot longer without it. And your more likely to have fewer problems with the engine. It's possible the Banks is causing issues...off the shelf tuners have been known to do that in the past.
P0263 is contribution/balance code for #1 (passenger side front)
P0284 is contribution/balance code for #8 (driver's side rear).
Does the engine have a skip to it when it's idling...or allot of grayish smoke out the tailpipe when driving down the road? If this is the first time the code was thrown I wouldn't worry too much about it. But if it keeps coming back almost as soon as you clear them...check connections on the injectors, back side of the FICM and possibly a chaffed wire in the harness. I believe both #1 and #8 are in the same FICM plug, so it could be a loose/bad wire and cost you next to nothing but some time to fix.
