Fx4 EB - need advice or input

Hey I have a 11' fx4 EB screw and I am wanting to get a utility trailer like a 22' bumper pull or a 24' GN. Does anybody have any real world experience pulling a GN with a screw short bed ? I will be pulling a 40hp kubota tractor with my 7'disk and 6'bush hog a few times a year and a few atv's several times a year. What would y'all recommend ? Bumper pull or GN ?

my cousin has a goose neck he pulls with his 06 crew cab 5.5 box. its just like any other truck out there but you cant make as tight of turns it it so he sates. i like bumper pull trailers but GN are way easer to get around in tight spots!

Yeah I have always pulled big trailers with my previous trucks. I am basically trying to get some input on which might pull the best. I also want the weight to be distributed the best.

G/N will distribute the weight best as the hitch is usually centered over your axle rather than the most rearward point of your truck. I've seen some "high rise" G/N trailers that would appear to give a short box very near the articulation of a longer box... If you go G/N make sure and spend the extra money to get a "turnover ball" style of hitch so you can have the bed flat and usable when you're not towing.

I don't think I would mount a GN on a F150 mainly because I believe it would hurt the resale value. Not many people pull anything with an F150 with a goose-neck. Other than that a GN will improve the turning radius noticeably and distribute weight better and if you don't mind something a lot closer to the rear window.

Thanks , i plan on keeping it until she cost me (maintaince )more to drive it than I would be paying on a note. I am leaning towards a GN mainly cause the weight will be over the rear axle vs hanging off the tail end , my truck only weighs 5800# with me in it.

It sounds like you need a GN and a set of airbags.

Got bags now just gotta decide which route I wanna go. I borrowed a 22' car hauler to haul my tractor/disk/bush hog/ box blade this weekend. I will see how it pulls on this road trip , but I don't have room for my 800 ranger - main reason I want a GN ( so I can load the ranger sideways ontop of the rails )

Well a quick update : I borrowed A 22' x 102" car hauler this weekend to haul my 7' disk ( w/ huge chunk on concrete ) 6' bush hog and 6' box blade and a 40 HP John Deere tractor and IT PULLED great ! I set my cruise at 75 and zero sway ! Btw I also had 1000lbs of corn and feed in the bed. So I guess I will begin the search for a 22-24' bumper pull trailer. I know a GN would pull better but the added cost I just can't justify to pull 2-3 times a year.

You may want to consider a "properly" set up load equalizing hitch, with the torsion bars and maybe a sway bar setup. With this you can set it up so truck rides close to level so you aren't blinding on coming traffic with your lowbeams, let alone not getting the light in the front end syndrome. I'm on the road everyday in a 42 wheeler, and cringe everytime I see a pickup looking like it is being launched into space. It's not just 1/2 ton pickups either.
On my 150, I just had airbags installed. I hooked my 7ton flatbed, empty, amd the tail sagged with just the tongue weight from the trailer. To be honest, even my Super Dude with overload springs squated just a bit as well. I manage to move the load around on the deck a bit to help some of the sag, but you still want 10% or more of total trailer weight on that hitch, or you run into sway problems.
Goosenecks are nice, but I have a cap that stays on the truck forever, so in my case, a bumper pull is the only way to go.

With the above load this weekend my truck sat level as I had the majority of the weight on the axles of the trailer.
