I am trying to find an inline/diesel rated filter, to replace the 3003 one on my truck now. I have the part numbers, 3007,33007,etc..
I went to local parts store (Advance Auto), they cross referenced to a Purolator filter, smaller and no mention of diesel rating. The guys there are no help.
Where have you guys bought one? What is the actual difference? Seems a lot of parts guys now can't think, and if there is no application in their book they are lost. Is there an app. that one can look up and get the filter?
Oreillys can order wix filters for you. I use 33007 (about $5 ) or 33972 (about $10 ) . Each is diesel rated.
If there is not a store in your area, the parts can be shipped to your home.
But, once again out of curiosity, what is the difference? Is the flow different, the medium that filters different?
Does it hurt to use a gas (3003) filter?
