That seems to be kinda popular, running both on the right frame rail, I'd kinda like to run one pipe on each frame rail if I could, now I've got a C6 so should that make this easier or harder?
Stock configuration uses a stock Y-pipe to a single exhaust.
Long tubes and duals is waaay easier than a manual setup..... A good muffler shop will be able to snake their way past the tranny and down the left frame rail.
Alternatively, LMC makes a kit for 4x4s with auto trans on page 138:

I did it on my '78 that had a 400/NP435/205 combo. IIRC anyway. It had the part-time transfer case, whichever one that is. I had Dynomax headers (junk!) and 2.5" duals. The driver's side pipe went up over the trans crossmember, and had to bend outward to clear the transfer case. It was a little tight, but never had any problems.
No pics, this was long before we had a digital camera.
I don't have any good pictures but the pipes come off of the headers and go down below the crossmember and then back up between the frame rails and dump towards the front/middle of the bed.
I'll have to look exactly how they were done on my SC at the C6. They come into a mid-mounted dual-in/dual-out Spintech muffler then exit just behind the axle.
