Radio harness question

I have a 1990 f150 and want to know if the wiring harness can be removed and replaced somewhat easily. In my truck the previous owner put in a cheap broken radio and badly cut the wiring. Now the wires where cut really short and the connectors cut off and nothing is where it should be. Now Instead of trying to fix this old broken wiring would it be easier to find one off a salvaged vehicle and put it in mine? If so what goes into the replacement of the radio wiring harness.

You would need to replace the entire dash harness OR you can pull your harness out and splice a new plug onto your existing wiring.

That is the best and cheapest option. Go to the jy and cut out a radio only harness and splice it onto your wires.

Ugh.... Sorry to hear that. Thankfully, the aftermarket has solutions for this kind of scenario, like so:

86+ FD PWR/SPK->OE RADIO

That's a replacement for the OE harness, at least for the stereo. Hopefully you have enough wire left to join to.

Then, once you get that in, you use one of these to adapt your stereo's connector to the OE harness, like this one:

Actually, since I'm lazy, I like to use the one Scosche makes that already has butt connectors on it:
