Carb mounting questions

I have been looking at carbs for the 75 and am a little bit stumped. I have the spread bore manifold. The new carbs come with a square bore. The adapter plate mounts the square bore carb to my spread bore manifold, correct? If so, what does this do to the flow inside the manifold? Were there any stock square bore manifolds made? Engine is a 460.

spread bore

84espy, If you have a Motorcraft carburetor spread bore there is an adapter that will fit and work properly. I did this very thing a few years ago with no problems. Which ever carburetor you choose just make sure it has features for Ford use. Kenny
