The instructions say to line up the cam. Which i can't see. But the pump i took out has the same style straight arm as the new one so i should be able to just slide it in????
Fuel pump is in. I'll post a picture of what the low side of the cam looks like. The low side is when the front part of the cam and the fuel pump lobe are at the same height.
The flat part of the pump arm has to sit on top of the cam, so, you have to angle the pump downwards and slid it in, as you bring it flush, you should feel the presure telling you, NO, I don't want to go in there.
i don't remember what direction ours face, but for EVERY mechanical lift pump, the smooth side of the pump arm must ride against the cam. if you get it on the other side of the cam, it'll break as quick as you hit the starter.
