DOVE parts?

I was looking to switching to a DOVE intake for my 427. Anybody here have any experience with thier parts?

google brings up alot of good and bad stories. Most seem to be rather old reports. looking particularly for anyone who has purchased anything recently from them.

They make a really nice looking (in the pictures) repro of this intake: http://mustangtek.com/Intake/C8AX-9424-A.html

thanks.

DOVE is the prefix for a block, head or intake manifold casting number for a 429 or 460 engine.

I searched and found only 2003 and 2006 entries at

332-428 Ford FE Engine Forum: Problems with DOVE Intake, Surprise , Surprise..

and

FE intakes - Ford Muscle Forums : Ford Muscle Cars Tech Forum

Found this by accident:

DSC Motorsports - Manifolds

Seems like there would be a lot on those given the hype about them.

If you like the 427, wait till you see what it's wrapped in.

Go to the OP's opening post and look at his pictures and read his story:

Ok fellas,

In case anyone else is interested i did alot of diging today as i really want that tunnel wedge intake for my 427.

The good news is i was finally able to get someone on the phone at Dove Engineering and got some answers.

Turns out they are focusing on the SOHC (Cammer as us 427 guys call it) engine. Although they are still producing blocks, rods, pistons, etc common between the two, they are not currently producing any more FE intakes or wedge heads. They still have alot of parts on the shelf but will not consider any more casting runs till they run out.

they have a couple of wicked tunnel ram for FE's for different cylinder heads........

Unfortunately for me they are sold out of the intake manifold i am scouring the surface of the earth to locate. they do have many other intakes in stock and are looking to make some deals. So if you want "new" FE parts just give them a call. It was kind of tough to get someone on the phone but once you do they are extremely friendly and will answer any question you can come up with.

They are all on the FE forum, via network 54.

Wld427, I'm not allowed to post links to non-advertising companies, but try googling "Carl's Ford Parts"
Lotta good stuff, several Dove intakes.

Usually because they didn't like following the rules

I am constantly amazed how "gurus" can't stop insulting people with differing opinions or trying to sell their own stuff... but I digress

I run a Dove Tunnelwedge on my race car. I've had the intake 20 yrs now, it's serial #0057. They had a rash of bad castings later on, but think that is fixed now. I only paid about $500 for it(If I recall). I think they are much more now.

I also run their HD wide rocker set up. Nice stuff, never needs adjusting, though I'm not running crazy spring pressures(or roller cam).

Jim Dove has had some bad times, lots of people hate him(for whatever reason). Buddy needed some rocker parts a few weeks back. Jim stayed around til 7pm on a Friday night just so my friend could drive up and pick the stuff up(1 1/2 hr away). I don't know him personally, but know people that do.
