got rid of the GOddyear fortera's with 5,000 miles on them...........so far no vibes(delaer was right don't tell them please)............and less weight hanging on them(fortera's had a mx of 6.0 oz hanging on one rim after the rims were re-conditioned and Motomotion Inc.)................hmmmmmmmmm goodyears got a tire balance problem................i'm gonna have a hard time buying anything with goodyears on it or buying goodyear replacement tires
I hate goodyear. Period. I have lost so much money in comission due to warranty/customer satisfactions because Goodyear can't make a tire to save their lives. Absolute trash.
The LT4's we sell are a good tire - Michelin makes a great tire, but they are kinda pricey.
Jarrett Fan, I almost got a set of the GY Forteras untill I heard the samething! Good post!
I'm with you against the frenchy french guys Jim but I did get a set of michlin LXT AT 265/75-16s for my company truck (back before the french started prooving that they were not With US in the War on Terror)
So what other SUV tore would you all suggest as an alternative? I have never liked Goodyear for much other than a tire swing myself.
Just wondering due to needing to replace our tires at the end of the summer. Still have the stock GY's on it now. Since this is the wife's vehicle I am sure to still go with a street tire over an all terrain or off road tire.
The LT4's were going to be my first choice but as you all pointed out.....why support the French if we can support someone else that supports the US.
Just not sure what other options there are......would appreciate some input.
we put BF Goodrich all-terrian T/A KO's on my wife's 97 expy
17" they ride excellent, handle very good, they are a bit pricey though, $170 each. but from the looks of them at this point it appears we should get good mileage from them.

Michelin owns BFG!
99Expyoh, I've got Bridgestone AT's on my Expy. I have ~30K miles on them and they perform like new. This was my first set of Bridgestone's after many years of Michelins and I am very impressed.
Bad news i think..........Tires are great love the ride..........but i noticed a slight shuttering on decel........Found that they had put 3 255-70-r16 on my rig and one 265-70-r16(was on driver's rear) didn't notice it till i got back from an 1800 mile round trip to hilton head.they replaced the tire and it seems fine didn't feel the shutter anymore but did i dmage the trans or rear diff? anyone have a clue? should i go after them about this one or did it do no harm?
Don't worry too much, there shouldn't be any long-term problems. Just make sure you document the error and have them document it as well in case something creeps up later.
BTW, I have also used both the new Bridgestone Dualler AT Revo and the older model that they replaced with excellent results. I would not hesitate to recommend the Bridgestones
I currently have Goodyears on my truck(came with it). For the past few years I have always put Cooper tires on my suv's. Both my Bronco II and my Cherokee ran with Coopers. I never had any problems with them. I don't know how they compare in the high end tire range though because I always bought mid range. Just my 2 cents.
