I have a cummins swap in my 2001 f250 the speedo was supposively working before the swap and now it's not. The indicator lays over to 90 and when I drive it floats back to 70-75. I changed out the VSS sensor on the rear end. Didn't fix it. But my odometer works fine. Can you give some advice? I was gonna check fuses right now but can't find a fuse diagram. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

1. "supposively" is not a word. Supposedly is the real word.
2. Not to come off as rude, but it seems pretty simple. If I understand correctly, you swapped a cummins in place of your powerstroke and the gauges stopped working, so you start replacing stuff you didnt touch? Go back to what you did touch. The motor, the computer, etc. I doubt the speed sensor on the rear differential broke when you were swapping the motor.
I'm glad you clarified you weren't being rude. Lol. And I didn't do the swap. I need a schematic or some help to find the suspected cut wire or wires.
Sorry. Long day at work. If a wire was cut, or a fuse was out it wouldn't work at all. I'm guessing the problem is somewhere in the drive train.
I suspect that the transmission changed too? I think some where the computer is getting information on RPM and using it to create a MPH value, but because the engine is using a different power band, and the trans has different drive ratios the, the values for converting RPM to MPH is wrong. This is speculation on my part because I havent done a swap like this but it makes sense to me.
Yes, installed a ZF6 speed from a 2002. Hmmm, never occurred to me that the xmsn could have something to do with it. I was thinking about running a direct wire to VSs. Would that work? Or does it have to run through computer?

The PCM uses the VSS counts(pulses) to calculate speed.
Ahh.. Did you swap from an automatic to the ZF6? I think that would require a new PCM and that could be the culprit.
