Oil filters

I have a 1997 sport with a 4 L sohc engine. Is it worth the extra money to buy a non-flow back oil filter. one similar to what Volvo uses that has a one way valve in it so some of the oil remains top side?

Just use the stock Motorcraft filter, and you will be fine!!
By all means, NEVER use a Fram!!

Why is that? I've never had a problem with them.

Oil filters

If you do a search on Fram oil filters, you will find a lot of posts
with problems with Fram oil filters. I personally had a bad experience with one years ago also!!

Probably the most common symptom with Fram oil filters is valve
train / bearing noise on startup due to the poor anti-drain back
valves on Fram filters.

ok I beleive you- but you must use the filters with the valve so I assume you support those type of filters. NAPA makes one - is it any good
