Hey , I hope someone can help me! I have a 1992 f-150 w/E4OD transmission that has been acting up lately. It gets to the point where it doesn't want to downshift out of O.D. ! I can come to a dead stop and then try to take off again and it starts off in O.D. . I can manualy shift down to 2nd but not 1st. By the way, it does better when it has not had a chance to warm up good. I ran a KOEO test and here is a list of the errors that I found. Maybe someone can help me figure out exactly what the problem is! I am a first time user of FTE and so far I feel that this a great asset for Ford Truck Owners!!!
Error codes:637;622;629;618;619;624;628;
What could cause all of these codes to appear at once?
tadd, first I'm sorry but i don't know what your codes mean, i'm only givin a few suggestions that are much simpler. your truck is 10 years old, check the wiring from the tranny to the computer for corrosion or cracks, also have you had a tranny filter or oil change in a while? try these and reply. or hopefully you have already diagnosed the problem.
Those error codes point to shift solenoid, and temperature sensor open circuit as well as other errors. You have a disconnected harness or major corrosion on connector pins. Check all of the wiring to the transmission for loose, bent or corroded plugs or pins.
