air cond question

does anyone know the positions of the high and low pressure stems that are located at the hi/los pressure valves? i believe there are three positions: charge,regular oper, and closing off system, but im not sure and not sure about which way to turn stem. any help would be welcomed..thanks

Turning the fittings all the way in is for servicing or removing the compressor. All the way out is for using the a/c. As for charging most systems that I service I have the fittings all the way out.

There are three positions front seated, back seated and cracked. They are called king valves you can google king valve to see the positions.
