Clearouts or blackouts?

I'm beginning to think about getting either clear taillights or blackout covers for my '95 F-250. My truck has the black strip on the tailgate, so the blackouts would match, but my truck is white and the clearouts would look good with that, I think. What do y'all think? The headlight stuff can wait right now.

Clearouts or blackouts?

now remember, these taillights are for letting people behind you know that you are stoping, turning etc... why darken a tail light? so someone can't see it and hit you? seen it happen many a time and then the whiteout deals take away the all American red stop siginal and yellow turn so again they hit you because they can't figure out what your doing.
yes, we still give the ticket to the person behind that didn't stop. if it's legal in your state and you want it then go for it but for me I like bright red tail lights so even in the summer sun they can see me stopping. but that's just me.

Clearouts or blackouts?

I think the clear look better in some cases. One thing I cannot understand is why someone would put clear on a harley edition.
A guy I know has put them on his. To each his own, but I think it takes away from the edition............ just a thought

Clearouts or blackouts?

Just got a set of Altezza tails off e-bay for $50 they have the clear lens cover with the red round inset tail lights and are bezeled with carbon fiber look alike material. Very nice, I have them on a 2001 F-150 all black truck. I think they would look just as good on a white truck as well...

Clearouts or blackouts?

considering black-outs are for "offroad use only," id either go with clears, a street-legal paintable tailight cover, or keep em stock. you can see what i did with mine in my gallery.

Clearouts or blackouts?

A friend of mine who put clears on his Bronco is giving his old taillight covers to me. They're slotted horizontally and I think I'm gonna paint them white to match my truck, as they are black right now.

Clearouts or blackouts?

This is my take on the whole thing. I've also been thinking for a while what side of the lights I want to go with. Basically, blackouts are mainly good if you do a lot of offroading. They just look like they go along with 4x4. Clear headlights and altezza tailights are more for the looks. It's basically all preference.

Clearouts or blackouts?

I think the clear ones look good, the blackouts are stupid, and in my opinion dangerous. The point of having tail lights is so others can see them so why cover them up?

Clearouts or blackouts?

Well, I have blackouts on my front lights, I just take them off if I am getting on the highway at night, I know the front only takes about 5 seconds literally to take off or put on. I do not think I am going to do anything on the back.

plus blackouts are not that dangerous. I have a friend with a 94 firebird who has blackouts on his taillights. sure the blackouts lower the visibility a little bit but not so much that they would be dangerous to any point. Plus if they were that dangerous, they would not be legal.

I think you will find that the package they come in says not for highway use. DOT has not approved any tinted style covers for on highway use.
