I've looked and still need some info...the torx bolts were loose in my '95 F250...hence the shifter was a tad sloppy...was checking my brake setup for my travel trailer and when I started the truck it won't go into gear...I id'd and tightened the 2 torx bolts, but the prob still exists...any info muchly appreciated...thankx in advance...
this is another thing that has popped up...here is my day so far...loaded up the new-to-me travel trailer to take it to the shop to inspect the brakes and adjust if required...neighbor was out and he said he could tell if the brakes were working via them operating or not...at this time the shifter locked...in the middle of the road...neighbor has figgered out the prob I believe...when you place the ignition in the "off" position you can hit brakes and shift to neutral...then on to "run" and "start"....as soon as you put it in park again the shifter locks up...now I find my brake lights are not working...and the electric brake controller no longer shows power...and I'm a tad retarded when it comes to electricity...hope this wind-bag post helps....
edit to add: the ABS light flashes in groups of 16...will look for info on that and hope I do better ..
edit again: fuse 13....interior panel top center horizontal was blown...would a 20 amp fuse be ok for a 15 amp fuse????
That 20 amp fuse will get you by but you need to unhook the trailer wiring until you figure out what caused the fuse to blow in the first place. That same fuse controls parts of the trailer wiring and the shift interlock for the brake pedal which makes it necessary to step on the brake pedal to shift it out of park. The solution in the mean time, would be to do what you did. Shift it to Neutral, start the truck, then put it in drive and go. Just be aware that you're not going to have brake lights or tail lights until you replace that fuse.
I have my truck back....now its finding the prob...I redid the ground on the truck side....now to redo the ground on the trailer...thankx for the help!!!!
