Welcome to FTE
Despite the N as the first digit of the VIN, as the first digit of the Type/GVW, there were no N series trucks assembled after 1969.
N70 = LN700 (gas).
E = 361 2V or 4V Xtra Duty.
V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.
CE6031 = 1978.
184" Wheelbase.
COLOR = blank.*
N706 = LN700 (gas), 27,500 lbs. GVWR
8C8: 8C = Dark Tobacco Vinyl / 8 = Standard Cab w/o Butterfly Hood.
BM = Clark model 285V 5 Speed Direct.
GHN:
GH = Eaton model 17221 Two Speed Rear Axle / 6.50/8.87 / 18,500 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.
N = Ford 12,000 lbs. Capacity Front Axle, optional frame color w/Power Steering.
27,500 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.
476536:
47 = Cincinnati OH Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
6536 = Domestic Special Order number. The truck was ordered special by the original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."
* When there is no COLOR code, the vehicle is painted a non standard color per the original purchasers order. This makes the vehicle a Domestic Special Order.

So it is a 78. The problem I'm having is no one has a listing for a 78 LN700. I happened to look last night on NAPA Online and found a listing for a 70 LN700 and they had what appeared to be the brake booster/master cylinder I need. Any thoughts as to why no seems to have a listing for a 78 LN700? Thanks for your help thus far. Greatly Appreciated!

I doubt 1970 will be the same as 1978. Give me the info as to the type of brakes your truck has and I'll take a look-see. Decoded all that jazz using the '73/79 Heavy truck catalog, have the 1964/72 catalog too.

L Series trucks (L/LN/LNT/LTS) introduced in 1970. I guarantee you that every 1970 thru 1990's Ford HEAVY Truck Parts Catalog have parts listings for these trucks.
The 1973/79 Ford HEAVY Truck Parts Catalog is available on a CD from hipoparts.com
btw: There are two Ford Dealers in SC that have obsolete parts: Haselden Bros. in York, Tison Motor Co. in Estill.

I need the power brake booster/master cylinder assembly (single piston). After looking at the NAPA online parts listing, it looks like it is the same assembly for a number of years. I have measured the pedal rod on mine (10 3/8") and it matches the listing NAPA has. Off to NAPA now to see how much this will set me back.
Thanks again for all the help you provided. Much appreciated.

NumberDummy,
Can you help me too? I have the same problem with an old truck that was left on my land. The only info I have for the truck is that it is a ford and the VIN# F82BVEC9357 BODY: 328 AXLE: DKN TYPE: F826. Any info would be greatly appreciated since I am trying to sell it. I do know that it runs and has a 18' x 8' box on the back.
