of course I don't have a job, a wife, and I have never been in a strip club

Furthermore, dismantling it is destroying the banks property. You'll be billed at a tremendous rate for the parts and labor needed to return the vehicle back to drivable condition for resale, or they may auction it in it's current condition, and not get much for it. You'll still be held for the balance.

Second repo means your credit will be shot to hell after this.

In the future, don't buy anything you can't afford to pay for.

Just put the wheels back on it and let him have it. Maybe even show a little self respect and return it to the dealer yourself.

In my business, we can't retrieve the equipment we install, and I have quite a few people on payment plans for thier heating equipment, (which, for sake of conversation, they would not have gotten if thier credit came back bad), I have one none payer right now that has been purloining us for a while now. I recently found out thru careful questioning on a phone call, that he's trying to re-finance his house. Well, downtown I go, and used my favorite little trick, a mechanics lean. He won't be able to make any moves with the bank until my lean is satisfied, and it goes on his credit. Have a nice day!

Morel of this story. You can run, but you can't hide.

Give them the truck back. They own it. It's just weasley and foolish to play games; if you return the truck without question they MIGHT negotiate with you. But if they get it back in pieces you'll find yourself in court and you will lose. You signed a contract and that's all the law is ALLOWED to see. They don't care about your finances, your situation, or if your kids are starving. Contracts were invented to protect the loaner, and they always trump you. And if you bothered to read the contract, you agreed to allow them to screw you anyway they want to, and banks LOVE to screw people. It's profitable, and they find it amusing as well. You'll see when you get your bill from them, and your credit report from Experian. You did a nice doozie on yourself...hope you own your house!
Besides, does it really amuse you that this repo guy is frustrated? He doesn't care, but he doesn't get paid until he gets that truck, so you will be in for a big surprise when he shows up with the cops and a flatbed and all your neighbors get to watch you get punked.
You should've bought a Kia.

This is funny.....

First off the funny part is he tried to drive it away and couldn't because the thing is a lemon. I also find it mildly amusing that because of the payments I can't afford to fix it. The reason I'm screwing with the repo man is because he didn't come to my front door and inform me he wanted the vehicle. If that was the case I would have handed him the keys and told him he needs a tow truck. If he wants to weasel it out of my driveway I'll make him earn it. My first repo was in 1991. In late 1990 I was deployed on 18 hrs notice and didn't have time to straighten out my bills. I was gone for 13 months. I came back and I didn't have a house, car, or motorcycle. What little I did have was being held by the bank in a storage depot and I had to pay through the nose to get it back. The bank will not renegotiate this loan because I have only had it for four months. I make $270 a week and have all my other debts consolidated on Ameri Debt which costs me $302/month. Tack on rent, food, insurance, and living expenses and there is not a whole lot left over for the truck payment. Basically I see this as another one of lifes little lessons. I came home from work and theres a note on my front door ordering me to surrender the wheels, lugnuts and remove the chain from the vehicle. I guess I'll just stack the tires in the drive and let it go. It's just a truck. It's not worth fighting cops and repo men for. Anyway I just thought maybe the users on this site would find the idea of a repo man trying to drive away in a vehicle with a shot transmission amusing. I guess it went over your heads or somethin.

Well let's see here, you've had it for four months. That means that in all likelyhood you've gotten a few letters and probably a few phone calls regarding the payment (in particular, lack of) status. So for all practial purposes they did, in a sense, come to your front door but it sounds like for whatever reason you shined them on. Naturally the next course of action is to repo THEIR property, in this case, fix the damage, and sell it to a person that is willing to pay for it. That is how it works in this society in which we live, like it or not. It just can't be any other way. As for the last word in the post, the somethin part, well the fact of the matter is that the rest of the people out their who take out loans pay a higher interest rate because of behavior like this. People do NOT like it one bit either. It's no accident that many credit cards screw people for 18+ percent.

It's worth realizing too that they really don't want that truck back; it's all a big hassle for them. If I were in your shoes and bought something that I probably should not have, I would get a second job to pay for it. On the other hand, maybe I would have sold it too. In the meantime, the money from the second job could be used to pay for it and any repairs need to keep it running.

I'd have to say that lots of great advice and the facts of how things transgress when payment is not made have been posted here since they are all true. Except for one, and that's the part about the used KIA. By the time the bank reports this to the credit agencies, a very well used YUGO might be in order.

If you have gone the "cure your credit" route. Just one thing to remember, It may still show up as bankrupty on your credit report. If you still cant pay your debts with this service my advice would be to file bankruptcy and get it over with. If you want to keep the truck you may be able to do so by reassuming the debt. Though making 270 a week it sounds like you need to sell the truck and get a used vehicle that you can afford.

I wouldn't say that.

Judging buy the discussions we have here, most users are inclined to be deeper/serious thinkers than that, and maybe *Just Don't* think this situation is funny ?

I do have to ask this one question....
You have had the truck for 4 months. You haven't made a payment in at least 3 months or they wouldn't be trying to repo it. So, this means you NEVER made a payment on the thing?
If you knew getting into it (I mean, it was only a few months ago) that there was no way you could pay for it, why did you buy it?

Maybe this is the part that is "Going over our heads"

I'm going to go send in my next truck payment early now..

I have been making PARTIAL payments of a little more than $200/month. I lost my $16/hour job as a mechanic and had to take a $5.15/hour job as a janitor. I'm so sorry to be a burden on society. Maybe all the poor should be dragged out to the street and shot. Would that help?

Hey I feel your pain debt stinks .
There are all kinds of dealerships around me that have "great deals" .
I say no , I have 3 older trucks 1 is registered I am working on the other 2 .
Since you said you were a mechanic why not find and older ford truck and fix it up?
personally I like the 73-79 but to each his/her own .
My point is these older trucks are easy to work on parts are cheep registration is cheep and town taxes are also cheep-plus no added INFLATED sales tax!

My 1989 is a pretty good truck but when "things" break it gets expensive !

My point is get a older truck to put together and drive and if you cant pay ypur bills you will still have a vehicle to drive - because it is bought and payed for .

hey life is tough- just keep your head up and get through it in one piece. good luck.

about the truck- i dont find the debt part funny, BUT the fact that they are trying to take back a vehicle they should have never sold to you in the first place ( because of a bad tranny ) i guess the joke is sort of on them.
