Spare Tire Position

Was doing the regular check of the tire pressures when I went to go check the spare

As I looked the spare is mounted so that the air fill tube is pointing in towards the bottom of the bed.

Cant get a guage on it and I would need to get a double sided air chuck to fill (not a big deal for that) - more concerned in being able to monitor the pressure

Question if I flip the spare upside down so that the tire can be pressured easily will it be too low?

Flip the tire over as I did. It is the same clearance as before and you can check the pressure easily.

I think they do it that way to keep the cable protected from the elements. I do flip it as well but coat cable in grease to protect it from the road salt up in these parts.
