I just changed the in tank fuel pump in my 86 ranger 2.9 tonight.I got it started after some time,Now it won't idle or rev up..Im going to put some more gas in just to be sure i dont burn up the new pump...Could there be air in the lines?????At least now it starts..
Yes there will be air in the system for a while till it runs through. Try to keep it running a while and it should clear out to be normal again with the idle and acceleration.
