Hey all,
I have a efi 7.5l 460 engine with a little over 3000 miles on it, and the tranny blew. I would like to replace it rather than rebuild it. And I would like to have a six speed rather than an automatic, can anybody give some suggestions for a replacement. The motor has alot of torque so I'm gonna need a good tranny to turn the 410 gear front and rear end.

 

I know the ZF 5 speed will work, not sure about the newer 6 speeds. The ZF5 has the bellhousing as part of the casting so you have to get one for a 460. They are not hard to find, salvage yards are less expensive or you can buy rebuilt or new. Do a google search & you should find several sources.
