Left rear turn signal problems

Just bought a used 2010 F150 STX scab about three weeks ago and am now having an issue with the left rear turn signal not working. All of the right side and the left front are working (left blinks fast). Neither of the left rear bulbs or the trailer plug are working. I tried (what I consider to be) the normal stuff; swapped bulbs and even sockets left to right side; checked fuses, pulled out and reinserted the relays with no avail. When I headed out over the weekend pulling a trailer, everything was fine. I noticed while the trailer was unhooked that the lights weren't working and figured when I hooked back up to the trailer, the trailer lights would work so I wasn't concerned and figured it was just the truck bulbs. The trailer doesn't work either so I am stumped. Found some similar issues with older trucks but nothing so far with this era of F150s.

Any thoughts?

Bump - stilll having the intermittent problem.

Ok, here is a recap; 2010 F150 STX scab 4x4 ~60,000 miles. I've had the truck for about a year now. The problem has been going on for some time now. Occasionally, the left rear turn signals, and brake lights, don't work (FYI - there are two bulbs in the light housing). The front left and both rights always work fine. When the left doesn't work, neither does the trailer light.

I've since replaced the entire light assembly (it had water in it) including bulbs, had mechanic replace the plugs with replacement leads, and unplugged the trailer connector from the wiring harness in case that was the source of the problem. No difference.

I have had the light start and/or stop working while making a turn so I thought it was maybe the turn signal switch. I took the cowling off the steering column and unplugged the turn signal switch and turned on the 4way flashers. Left rear still doesn't work.

I'm stumped as to why only the left rear is acting up and all others seem to be fine.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Brandon

I have this thing, that if something strange is happening in a DC system, I look for a bad ground.
May not be your problem, but just my .02

I'm certainly familiar with ground issues. With 7 trailers, I'm always assured of having some issue with grounding! I've tried to trace the wiring harness to ground and haven't been able to locate it yet. There is a dedicated ground for the trailer harness, but I couldn't find one for the truck harness. Any idea where it might be located?

Thanks.

Check inside the frame rail on the left rear right beside the spare tire, there's a factory splice(connector). Make sure that it didn't get jarred apart or that its not corroded..
