No power when towing
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Sep-02 AT 11:10 AM (EST)]As of late my father's 94 F-150 5.0 automatic 4x4 has absolutely no power when towing a small 25 hp tractor. In normal driving the truck still runs great. But when towing that tractor he has to go to low range to make it up small hills. Even then it barely makes it to the top. On flat ground there are no problems with towing. Keep in mind that he has been towing this tractor now for about a year on these same roads and has never had a problem.
Anybody have an idea about what needs fixed?

It could be a lot of different things. I'd start cheap first. Even at the same RPM, an engine under a load needs more fuel. Maybe fuel delivery? A filter is a cheap try. Maybe the timing is off, that's a freebie to check. Enjoy the hunt...
