going old school

The time has come to get out of truck payments and into something else. I have been looking for a older Ford for a while now. 73-79 have always been my favorite. 67-72 a close second. I found a 1977 Supercab F250 Camper Special long bed. It has a 460, AT, XLT, a/c, cruise, pb, ps. It will need some love and care. Kinda like that dog you see at the shelter.. lol All the trim is there and in good shape. No major rust, faded paint(not original) Interior is bad. Headliner is gone(have the trim) visors are there but in poor shape, dash is cracked, seat needs rebuilt and covered, the back seat is original! Door panels are replacements(one piece style with round holes for the speakers), carpet is original and shot. The dash is in great shape. Wood grain not pealing. The previous owner put a new fuel tank in the rear, new sending unit, pump and carb(edelbrock 600cfm) New master cylinder, shoes and pads. It needs all the rubber, doors, windows. LMC is gonna love me! Last time I had a bump side was in 1996. I am going to have a lot of questions in the future.

You do know you need to glue them in right? I used their door seals on 2 trucks so far and have a set for this one, no problems yet.

LMC parts are made overseas. I would only suggest using them if no one else had the part you are looking for. Instead use Dennis Carpenter Ford Car, F-100 Pickup Truck, 8N, 9N Tractor and Cushman Scooter Restoration Parts (1st pick) they make some of their parts in house. You pay a little extra but the money stays home and it's good quality parts. Also try Early Bronco Restoration Full Size Bronco Restoration Classic Ford Bronco Parts For Sale

Your new truck looks great! Post up some photos when you have the chance.

Yall are welcome. 'Glad to help..... I got tired of searching, copying, and then pasting sites into threads so now I maintain a text file on my desktop.

'Maybe I'll get around to maintaining tech links from all over the web in a single file...

90% of the reproduction parts are made in China, including Dennis Carpenter's. Most parts bought from autoparts stores are also made in China.

If you shop at chain department stores (Wal-Mart, Target and etc), most of the goods are made in China. Same jazz applies to Home Depot & Lowe's. THREE TRILLION DOLLARS (and counting) is the US trade deficit with China.

LMC doesn't reproduce much of anything since they're a middle-man operation. Most of what they sell, they buy from other repop sellers, local autoparts stores and if the parts are still available, from Ford Dealers.
