right now im sticking with the stock gears cuz right now i dont have the money to get new wheels and tires and regear both axles.
Do not go bigger than a 33" diameter tire then. The 285/75R16, 295/75R16 and 305/70R16 are all around the 33" range. I run the 285s and think they are a good size.
i hated my truck with 3.73 gears, then i installed 285 tires and it was such a DOG! It had no low end grunt and when in 4wd trying to drive through a muddy field i needed to use low range all the time. I had a shop install 4.30 gears about five years ago and it really woke up the little 5.4, i can easily spin all 4 tires in high range with just a small amount of throttle input. Low range is now like a 7.3 in low range all grunt! If you want 315's go with 4.88 gears if you tow alot of like to go off road. If you do nothing but drive on the streets and use 4wd very little go with 4.56 gears. Either way you should re-gear with 315's.
