Along with my leaky wiper posts (working on that, BTW) I now have another problem. Since it has warmed up, I thought I would drive around some to keep the battery up. I reached down and opened the vent by the parking brake and............Whooosh!!! Rainwater and leaves all over the floor
Is there a drain hole somewhere that I am not seeing, or?
There is still water present, even though it hasn't rained in a few days; so I know it's not draining. Oh, no problem with the passenger side so far................I guess I had better check it out though.
I see that there is a "mud flap" inside the fender, but is that covering up a drain? I know where the drains are on the '85 F-250 at work, I cleaned those out with a shop-vac. Is it something like that? I ran out of time to investigate it further today, so I would appreciate all input.
Sorry for all the dumb questions; I have a lot to learn about Ford Trucks.
Mine was full of leaves and stuff when I took it out to install a replacement. It reminds me of a time years ago when I bought a 64 Chev 1/2 ton (I sense a tremor in the FTE force...). Anyhow, I was driving it home from Marfa, Texas with one of my kids in the passenger seat. I decided we needed some air so I pulled the old vent open and wow! The truck immediately filled with dust, dirt, water and leaves! It was amazing. Adds some spice to the driviing experience.

While recently having to replace a leaky heater core, found lots of leaves and dirt in the core compartment, and the vent in the side panel. there is a hole in the vent bottom, but it will plugged with debris. Just reach in there and pull it all out. Better wear gloves, no tellin' what's in there!
Baitmaster, sounds like you only dealt with the passenger side.........What about the driver side?
Is the drain hole at the bottom of the vent just a small, drilled hole; or is it like the slotted holes at the bottoms of the doors? (I just cleaned those out, they were plugged big time)
The drian holes are large, elongated slots; located just behind and above the small "mudflap" on the lower inside rear of the fender well. I used some baling wire to "fish" out the debris; since I didn't know what was in there. Now it drains like a champ
If you are that plugged up, you may want to remove the vent and check things out. I think there's only a few screws holding it on. You may have to loosen the e-brake assy. too. I think I used a coat hanger to clear mine (might have been another truck, can't remember now).
