First Drive

Drove the truck to are cruise night last night. I got the new widshield and back glass in so it was time to take it for a real drive. It did great just need some weight on the back. No bed on it yet.

I have decided to buy a new bed kit. I compaired the parts I needed, sand blasting, not counting other small items and it is not that much more, plus the time factor.

A new kit with all stanless hardware is $1295.00. I will pick it up a the swap meet so no shipping.

That's Awesome! It has to be a great feeling to get it out for the first time. For me it seems that day will never come.
Do you have any pictures?

Nice, someday I may be driving mine! Sounds like a good choice on the bed, no rust or dents, and will save a lot of time.

Congrats on making your cruise night, Bob! That first cruise night is always a good time.

Your decision to go with the bed kit is a good one. It makes such a big difference in the look of the truck to have a nice bed, and as beat up and rotted out as most originals are, you just can't mess around with trying to fix one if you don't have to.
