NEW CRAZY PROJECT!!!
Best line I heard on my Triumph forums.
"pictures or it didnt happen"
Sounds like a cool little project, waiting to see the build pictures now. I have no idea for names so im no help, just going to watch the show.
OK, I have to ask because I don't know for sure.... Was there ever a factory twin turbo 7.3? I have never believed this to be true, but I was talking to a friend who told me he was in the market to buy a 7.3 and he ran across a 99-03 Ford OEM Super Duty with factory twin turbo setup. He absolutely swears by it.
After he told me this, I figured he was just dead wrong until I saw this thread. Was there ever such a truck?
Thanks,
Drake
thanks for all your suggestions for names guys, we here at "******************" want to thank you for your support and your ideas.
there will be a vote held on facebook, on the 10th of september to decide the final name of the truck. and just so you know, pictures will be available for downloads by tomorrow at 3pm eastern standard time.
ok so to answer the question about the twin turbo 7.3L, No there was never a factory TT 7.3L power stroke. the one i have in this build is mine that i pulled out of my '97 F250, because i put a Caterpillar C7.1 in my '97 for towing reasons. and no i dont just have a spare 7.3L laying in the shop, its the one out of my '97 F250.
so the twin turbo on the 7.3L is my own custom making. i fabricated all of the pipes and everything to make the TT work on my 7.3L, and it is aftercooled.
ok so to update yall on the build, after the fire was taken care of, and we moved the truck back in the shop, we began work on the exhaust system. what we are going with on this truck is a Big Rig style exhaust, that exits through 2 8in. stacks on either side of the truck, in between the cab, and the bed. and we finished the mock up today, so the stacks are off to be powdercoated.
We also began work on the suspension, but decided to ask you guys for your opinion. do you think we should leave it with the stock F450 rode height, or you think a lift kit on this truck would be kool lookin?? its up to you guys to decide, so leave a reply tellin us what you think it should be, and we will go with what the most people suggest!!!!
thanks again guys for all of your support, and we cant wait to see what other names you guys come up with. we only have been suggested with 3 or 4 names so far, and we would like to see more! so keep em coming!!!
thanks again from the team here a ****!!!!
oh and just so you all know, we havent actually finallized our garage as a buisiness, so once we do that, we will give out our address and phone number so you guys that live close by to thre garage can stop by and see the truck, or if you need work done on yer trucks for way less than a repair shop, then you can bring yer truck by!
again thanks for the support, and we should have another build update coming in about 3 hrs.!!!
see ya!!!

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Im starting to think that to. Either that or a buisness trying to get there name out there. Very quick build going from having all the frames, stretching a body, lifting a truck, having a TT setup ready to go. Then the shop burning, and getting a business started all in a matter of a couple weeks. Hell I make good money, but theres no way I could even order all those parts in this time frame. I dont know the rules on here really good, but my bike forums forbid outside buisnesses that arent elected by the site to come in. I dont know what to think.
And the fire wasnt that big at all. it was small enough for us to use fire extinguishers on.
the fire dept. was never called.
The 56 f100's body was stretched and made to fit an f450 chassis about 5 months ago. but for a different reason. again this all came together so fast, because alot of the stuff we are using on this truck was already here and ready to be used, we just had no idea what to do with it.
so yeah if you wanna know anything else just ask!! we will be glad to tell you anything you want to know about the shop. tomorrow there will be no work going on on the '56 because like i said, we are a shop that has to make money somehow and during the week, we service big rigs.
so thats it for me tonight, its been a long day and im tired so see yall on wednesday!
