I have a 4x4 frame and im trying to figure out what year it is . I know its a 60's model . From the back of the cab to the tailgate the frame is flat, no raises in it , like a 78 or 79 , that has the raise above the rear axle.I tryed finding the vin number on the frame but no luck, the cab is still on it, but i dont think its right by the VIN number. Thanks John

Isn't the vin number stamped on the frame rail top, passenger side, betwix the firewall and front of truck? Or is that under the passenger compartment on the side? Too many thoughts for this morning. Surely someone can cure my ramblings...

You will find the VIN between the forward cab mount and the front axle on top passanger side. Use a wire brush to clean the dirt out of the stamping. Took me a few hours to locate mine until I scrubbed on it with a wire brush

It can also be under the cab, on top of the rail. It should have a star before and after the number.
There should also be a part number stamped on the drivers side, on the outside of the frame, right around the shock tower. It should read something like:C4TZ-****
