Well I started my project with a 63' F100 frame I had a 79' Malibu front end put under it for good suspension and brakes. The Cab was shot so I found a presteine 66' Cab and bed and proceeded to swap them over. I moved the front mounts on the frame so they would line up with the cab mounts and the rear mounts would work as is.
My question to you people out there is the cab floorboard is hitting the frame. The only way to correct the problem is to shim the bed so it lines up with the cab and shim the rear of the cab up. Or channel the cab floorboards and keep the bed mounted directly to the frame.
Has anyone had experience with this, and what is the best route.
The truck is tubbed with disk brakes at every corner, and it has a stroked 520ci Big block with a C-6.
I have a 66 body on a 64 4x4 frame. I had to shim like you said, for the same reasons. If there is a better way, I'd like to know. It's a 4x4 so the extra lift doesn't really bother me. Especially if it's done cleanly. Probably not much help to you but I have the exact shim sizes written down if you need them. If you are looking to lower the truck channeling the floorboards is pretty slick too, but certainly a bit more work.

You can give them to me that would help alot. I just hate to take the bed off of the frame. It fits so well but the cab is for crap as far as fitting. I hate to cut the floorboards they are in good shape. Oh well thanks for the info. Did you move the front cab mounts on the frame like I am?
