It's Tuesday morning and I'm mad as hell.
The F-650 that I use for work is on the hook going to Mobile, Ala. AGAIN!
The DPF light started blinking after it sat idling for a few minutes.
It went into "limp mode" for a mile then cleared.
A mile later the "STOP ENGINE" light came on.
So off it goes to Cummins Mid-South again only 6,000 miles after the last time.
I can not convince the boss to do a EGR / DPF Delete and stop this crap.
The truck is out of warranty and the mechanics that work on it themselves say the delete is the cure.
So I'm stuck in the F-450 wheel lift unable to handle the full range of my normal work load.
That affects my bottom line hurting me in the paycheck.
@#*!$#%^@&@*
No word yet on what is the problem.
The truck got to the service center before the work day started Tuesday.
Yet I couldn't get an answer as to what caused the trouble by 4pm.
From what I was told by the driver that delivered by truck there is 4 other 650's already there.
All of them are back after having been serviced anywhere from 2K to 5K miles previously.
Mine is less than 7K miles from the major work that was done.
Obviously I'll be on the phone this morning looking for an answer.
Well! Aren't you just the attention hog David.
Here I've been whining about my phone and my work truck and you have to go and get sick in order to make me feel like a crybaby.
And you had to do it at home in Jackson where I can't come and visit you readily.
You don't have all that much time to get well before CTC, so you hurry up and do so, OK?
Well I picked the work truck up (again) from Cummins Mid South in Mobile last night.
It's running beautifully again.
Once again it was the EGR Valve that was the root of all evil.
This time it had stuck in the open position and the computer freaked out.
I've got some research to do about doing a delete.
I'm hoping that Mike at 5 Star can do a tuner for the truck.
One of the guys at work got one for his Dodge 3500 and did the EGR / DPF delete on it.
His cost for his mod was less than what this latest episode has cost the company.
I hate to hear about the truck Bryan. I hope it gets well soon. Some folks just dont understand how you feel when you have a sick truck. Did I hear someone was trying to act like something was more important than our trucks. LOL. Hope you get well soon David. If you need anything, let me know.
Man I am some kind of f'd up. I'running massive fever and pretty soon they'll be shoving a tube down my throat. I can only eat a few ice chips. No food. Nothing to drink. I am taking about 25mg of delaudid (?) ever 3-4 hours for pain. Feel like a junkie.
The old "Tube down the throat" mod is not one to be done if you can avoid it.
I would expect that you may be put on an IV for fluid intake.
Nothing by mouth is a major treatment for your excuse to lay in bed.
I a bit surprised that your medication is in pill form.
Did I misunderstand that?
As for now you lay there and do just what they want you to do.
I'm certain that they will kick you out as soon as they can.
