Went and go replacement pushrods for he drivers side bank. Question is brass colored side go up or down. I may be able to tell when I get them out but I wanted to be sure befor I get into it.
just doing stock for now. Got them from ford. like 5 bucks a piece. I have stock turbo so dont need anything stronger right now. Dont have plans for any more power adding mods. I am having to replace 3 (actually going to do all 4) because I think they are bent. Rotational velocities are off but buzz test is good. And truck makes weird, tell tale (supposedly) sound.
no its just at idle. I have a rough idle and it gets worse as it warms up or the longer you sit idling. Its like a "woh, woh, woh" Matt at gearhead said it comes out the intake but it sounds more like exhaust to me.
Let us know if it works. Never heard anything like this before. Seem you would have a wicked lifter, or rocker knock if the push rod was bent. Also roll the old ones on a flat table or something and see they are bent.
No I do not think it helped. When I removed them I laid them side by side and rolled them and they were not bent.
I upgraded to SS injectors in march. I did the pushrods and gasket to rule them out before I had matt send me a couple new ones. When I installed the injectors I forgot to crank it with the key without the GP's in there. I did turn it over by hand though. It did not want to turn over but finally did after hitting the key a few times. I had heard that not getting all the oil out can bend a pushrod. Matt said pushrods can cause rotational velocities to be off. So there is the story. But now its looking like injectors.
If I were to do push rods, I would do springs also. I don't think either one would help your problem, they just seem to go together. I would of also used after market push rods to make it stronger or not do it. SS injectors will make it idle funny to unless tuned properly. Even the good tuners mess it up some times. I heard alot of guys having to go back and tweek it. I hope you find the problem.

I used stock pushrods for their price. I don't have plans for.a bigger Turbo or more power so I should be fine. Matt has tuned plenty of these trucks, he was I have the latest issue of diesel power, so I don't think that is the issue. I just wanted to rule out the cheaper easier stuff before I.had him send me replacement injectors.
Good luck JT250, I understand. Just trying to make the point that sometimes the tunes just don't jive with some trucks. But if you have an AE or someone close could help you that would eliminate everything else. I'll keep reading till you figure it all out, I'd like to know being I'm going that route to with SS.

Will do. I have AE and everything looks good except the perdels. I have to talk to Matt but I am pretty sure I will be swapping a few injectors. I think Matt is confused though cause this has never happened before.
