Engine perch question.

I have read on here that the perches needed to install a 302 or 351 are different from the 352 perches. Will my 300/6 perches work for the 351? It looks like it would but not sure. Also are the engines offset towards the passenger side with V8s like the I6 is?

No

The 240/300 six perch and the FE perch are the same perch.

1969 was the first year for the 302. 351W not available until 1981, 351M first offered in 1977.

Same perches: 1969/79 F100 302 / 1975/79 F150 302 / 1977/79 F100/350 351M/400 2WD

Thanks Bill and Dave. Just as I thought. So I guess my next question is: Does anyone have a pair of perches for a 302 going into a 66?

i got mine at the local pick-n-pull or $9, out of a 75 f150 with a 302, cleaned em and painted them, bolted them in and got motor mounts from rockauto for a '75 and it dropped right in. my motor is off set to the passenger side a couple of inches, only interference i had was with my my long tube header on the passenger side, one tube came in contact with the inner fender so i relieved it a bit with a piece of wood and a wedge. hope this helps. my truck is also a 66.

Thanks Zombie. Gonna go with long tubes as well. trying to maximize the torque from the 351.

Just spoke to my paint supplier and I am looking at $1500 for materials to repaint the truck. The patina look is starting to look better by the minute
