Well guys,
I changed out my ICP and wiring harness to the sensor yesterday. All fixed, touch wood. Truck in running alot better now. My CPS sensors have not arrived yet, but I will change it out and IPR as well when they turn up.
Re: the CPS, no point changing if it isn't having issues.
They can go for half a million miles with no problems, others will go around the block and die. I would just leave it in the glove box and replace if/when it goes kapput.
If you knew the history of this truck, you would change it. It is likely to die next week, knowing my luck or when I am in the middle of no where. Just not keen on getting under it on the side of the road, as it looks like a pig of a job. I would rather do it at home in a semi controlled enviroment hey.
The point made by BigF350 is very much the proven way to view these CPS units.
He is exactly right; if it is working don't change it mate.
You could put in a 'new' one and leave your driveway and it will **** itself .
Then you would put back the one you know that has been working.
These have notorious unknown reliablity issues.
That is why I carry 2 x Spares. I know that if the current working one dies, I could easily change it out and the new one die just getting it started or it may well be good for another 100K or only 10K .
If you've got one in that's giving no dramas leave it mate.
