looking for some MAN boxes

while repairing the rear fenders on myCC LB today i realized how manly it looks in black, and knobby tires. Newer trucks just dont have this kind of stance, and the old school black wheels, ratty paint makes it look BA!

In my never ending upgrade quest for the truck, i figured some bed rail full 8 foot boxes with a black frame with roofracks would look KILLER on it (complete with rear flood lights and round tube roofrack!)

This way i regain the full 8 feet of the bed that my deezee full depth box takes away from, AND extend the bed higher in a sense so I can load scrap metal even higher! Plus it gives me even MORE cargo area on top to transport long items like ladders, bed frames, sofas etc etc.

Im thinking black diamond plate, chrome handles, black 2x2 square tubing for the frame. Maybe then my l9000 mirrors might look at home! I will be building it in a way to really maximize bed space, so the boxes will be overhanging the box on the outside quite a bit. Put little LED lights inside each box as well for night time work...oooo im soexcited!

Guys if anyone comes across a set of black diamond or just regular diamond plate full length rail mount boxes in Ontario please let me know! I cant find **** here locally. Lots of pics when it happens.

You can get aluminum MIG wire, but you'd need a shielding gas to run it. Also aluminum wire is more finicky with the feed, and you'd have to switch the polarity on the welder.

If you've got a stick machine I'm pretty sure you can get rods to weld aluminum, however they won't exactly be cheap.
