Hi all. Haven't been on in a while but have a new project. '72' F-100 short bed. The problem is how can I highlight the vin stamping on the frame to better be able to read it? Is there a chemical that will make it more visible? I can read most of it but am missing the first five digits/letters.
Also, I suspect it is an original 390 truck, but don't know for sure. It has an Edelbrock carb but whoever put it together didn't hook up the kickdown and throttle linkage correctly. Do any of you have a picture of an original big block/auto linkage on the carb as well as the bellcrank on the intake and firewall hookup? Trying desperately to keep it as original as possible so it works correctly. I have the bellcrank and firewall setup but don't know how to connect to the new 4 barrell. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Russ.
Hey Number Dummy, thanks once again! THe first half of the stamping is so faint I can't read it all. Looking for some sort of dye maybe that will show it up. I know there is such a thing. Maybe a machine supply. Anyway, when I get the whole vin I'll be giving you a shout out, thanks again, Russ.
Hey Dan, thank you. Just what the doctor ordered! I can print that off and a little patience and 3 or 4 brews I should have everything hooked up. The FTE forum comes through again, thanks, Russ.
