ok let me first explain what my intentions are with the project truck i am working with. i have a 93 f250 body that i am wanting to put a newer direct injection motor in. ok so i bought a motor and the vaulve cover stamp is gone so everyone else that i have saw online speaks of the block serial number and i found the number it is 7.4JU2U 2 4 5 7 0 6 AND I HAVE CALL EVERY ONE I MEAN EVERONE about this to find the year of the motor and usaially you know it wouldnt be this hard just put you motor in and the biggest thing would be the wiring but no thor i bought was out of an automatic and was told to be to be a 96 but when i went to do a swap to a manual the the flywheel wont go on the back of the crank because the ring on the back of the crank is larger than the slot on the flywheel so thats why i am having troubles so if any one at all knows what my year of motor is it would be very helpful for your help because ford cant look it up with out a vin and international cant help me at all so please heeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllppp
if the motor was from an automatic it will have a spacer that has to be removed to be able to use the flywheel from an manual the spacer is on the crank
but even if i take that spacer out the flywheel will not go on at all the ring on th back of the crank is bigger than the one on the flywheel i mean i did get the clutch from advanced thats probably the problem
Can you verify this by which flywheel you asked for? Also, if you look at the top of the valve covers, where the wiring goes through the valve cover gasket, how many wiring connectors are on the VC on each side? A '97 and down engine will have two per side, a '99 up will have one per side.
everything went well spacer came off the back of the crank and is now all bolted up to the trans now all that is left is the wiring is there anyone that knows anone that what kind of job its going to be to wire a 96 direct inject into a 93 body
That spacer that was behind the automatic flywheel was much bigger than the one for the manual i pulled out the spacer and the manual flywheel fit right on. you got any idea on my wiring issue
