Question Unknown part

I am new to this site so I am not sure how this really works, but here is my question. I recently purchased a 89 F350 dually and noticed that the is a small reservoir located next to the battery. There are 2 caps on top of the reservoir 1 has the numbers 1-6 around it and the other has the letters A-F. It definitely appears to be a factory item. Can someone please tell me what this part is.

Thanks

To me that sounds like it would be your emmisions/fuel vapor canistor. If is has a couple of vacum lines running out of it then that would be it.

Thumbs up Unknown part

Burg460 is right on. That is exactly what it is. Had to recently replace mine on my Bronco. Entire top deterioted. Save the two caps on top if you replace. New ones from the dealer don't include the two round caps. They just pull off. My new one was around $90.00 from the local Ford dealer.
