Big diesel truck show in Muncie Indania on June 7th and 8th. Truck pulls will be on saturday and the drags will be on sunday. All are welcome even Gassers I guess
I was going until all the High School graduation party invites hit the mail. Now wife says we need to go to them cuz most of our friends kids are graduating. We are now planning to go to Muncie next year.
You will be missing a lot. there are a lot of great trucks and aftermarket companies that show up and show off their stuff. then the take it to the track and lay their money down. There is a LOT of great info and even some great deals on aftermarket parts. I bought my guages last year for 200 bucks. Boots/pyro and guage holder plus all the things to hook them up. I priced the same stuff last week for the new truck I just bought and it was over 350 bucks. I'm looking at picking up a pulling clutch and HD imputshaft this year so I can start my sled pulling and drag raceing. next year Twin turbos
Thanks for rubbing it in. lol I was going to buy a flip chip, IDM mod, & a nitrous system cuz I had heard of the good deals there. I wonder if I could set up a purchase prior to the show and have a friend buy it for me at the show and then I get the stuff at show prices??
Usally the prices vary the more you talk to the seller. You know start talking about your truck and put your arm around his shoulder sometimes the prices come down sometimes they don't
Well 01 I did end up going afterall. I can't say for shure wether or not I remember your shirt. I got to the truck pulls at about 18:00. I had a lot of trouble finding the place. I did see a lot of good trucks and pulls including the turbo carnage, and the white Ford that got rear ended by the sled at about the 100' mark. I got to talk with Dennis Perry, and David Lott. I stayed until 22:00 cuz had to go get something to eat, the fire dept. had run out of food before I got there. Sun. I got to the drag strip at about 10:00, left town at 12:00.
We left the house here around 9:00am and got to Muncie around 12:30. satyed until the Ford truck with the DT 466 engine pulled well tried to pull. looked good just could not get going. I did not sit in the stands much I was helping my friend who have the black 97 dodge reg cab pulling truck. he blew his clutch on his last pull if you wanted to see a good looking Ford truck You should have seen DMZ's truck it was sitting on a trailer all night. I tried to get them to pull it but they said no it was a show truck. their pulling truck was a Dodge but they decided to mess around and do some drag raceing up and down the street and blew a turbo. I also hung around the dyno because many of my friends were dynoing that day. I kept hearing that there was a few Fords with mechanical pumps but I did not see any. I saw a ford stroker with Stroke this on it I saw one guy with two trucks. One a Ford and One a dodge. he used the Dodge to pull the Ford to the pull. Only problem was when he broke the Ford he pulled the Dodge. He sartted bouncing and broke a u-joint. I wander how he got home that night
