My truck is a 94 F350 and i have problems with the bushing that holds rod on the arm that pushes the hyd master cylinder. They don't last long at all. Just wandering if this is common? The part # is E69Z-7526-A
Its the little plastic thing right? I had the same problem with mine. My solution was to get the little cheap ones from orielly. They come on a package of like 7 with ones for all makes and models. Then i drilled a hole on the rod, and put a cotter pin through it. Its been like that for months and its working just fine. The plastic thing hasnt broken yet.
Thanks Fordforlife7.3, I'll have to try that. Kinda frustrating when that thing pops off and you gotta speed shift or shut it down and pop it back on. I keep a spare at all times. Didn't realize orielys had them. Get mine from my local parts store and they are ford items. 9$ A PIECE! Thanks again.
Yah its a pita for sure. The whole package at oriellys is like 4 bucks. Its called a clutch pedal bushing i think. Its a dorman part. Just put it on then drill the hole as close to the bushing as you can. You may be able to forget the bushing and just use a cotter pin but idk.
Also, i think theres a thing sold on ebay called the perminent clutch fix or something. Its a metal version of the plastic bushing. Its like 40 bucks though, and a cotter pin is 15 cents
I bought my '87 in 2004, and soon after I bought it, I just slipped a ziptie over the rod between the mushroomed end and the eye for the clutch pedal. Works like a champ, going on 8 years or so now, w/o having to replace the ziptie. And if I ever need to, who doesn't keep 'em on hand?
Yeah, tried no bushing, eat into the plate on the clutch shaft. That was a little difficult to fix. But I'll try the pin trick. Thanks again Fordforlife.
Justin, the trucks running great! I haven't tweeked the timing anymore. Not much of a turbo whistle, but the response is WAY better. Big notice climbing hills from dead stop. Gonna hook the camper to her this weekend and do the real test.
so you do realize that if you dont want to buy them bushings any more that rod that goes into the master from inside the cab should have an ajustable screw rod on it and you adjust it. thats how mine is and it works freakin great for the most part i think imma need a new deal for it soon the part that the push rod hooks to is getting groved and is about half way threw

The bushing is there to prevent the parts from getting grooved... All you're doing is making it worse.
Not everyone has the adjustable pushrod either. My truck doesn't, and the replacement master cylinder doesn't either.
I believe only a certain year or master has that adjustable pushrod, most are fixed size.
Yeah,I put a small hose clamp on mine. Grooved the plate. Only reason I noticed was that my truck wouldn't start. It wore the plate enough that that the safety switch wouldn't engage. The plate had to come from Ford and wasn't too fun to install. The
" Plate" is actually called a lever. Part # E7TZ-7A554-A if anyone needs it.
