Cured Surge Problem
I have been having a problem with my E99 PSD surging when trying to hold part throttle light load level ground.
I was messing around under the hood looking for answers when I decided to spray my throttle pedal position sensor with some electric cleaner.
I really hosed it down.
Now no more surge! It starts and runs much crisper. Sounds much better.
I am dumbfounded at the difference.
As old as this truck is I now want to get a new pedal position sensor. This is the old style with the two seperate switchs on the pedal.
It is not exactly easy to see and I can't get the p/n off it.
Any one have any p/n advice for me before I take the whole thing apart?

A follow up report here. It has been several days and a lot of rain and the truck is still running great.
This is a great relief to me as I have been planning to tow a trailer from Alaska to Washington and was worried about how lousey the truck was running.
Just a can of electric cleaner did the trick.

You going on the complete AlCan, or are you taking the ferry through Prince Rupert?

Take a can of spray with you. Just in case.
It is always good to know how someone fixed
a problem instead of thinking "did they get that fixed and how"
Thank You and have a safe trip.

I will be doing the full AlCan.
Did it twice this year already.
This will be the final part of our move from Alaska to Wa.
Don't worry, I will have a can of electrical cleaner with me.
Probably be on my own. Have 50 gal aux tank in truck. Will fill up before I hit Canada. You think we have big fuel prices!
