Ok- I have had tuners before; a few of them actually on my older 6.0. But now with all the exhaust stuff on the 6.7 I was wondering if anyone has had any info good or bad with the Bullydog tuner and keeping the exhaust intact. I know that a Blackmaxx with a full delete would be awesome but at this time I do not want to remove all the DPF junk. Thanks
hschiro you won't be disappointed at all. I'm running the H&S with dpf stuff on right now, and it's amazing how much Ford left in this engine!
I have increased about 2 mpg and I still find myself playing around and running it a bit. If I force myself to not get on it for a full tank of fuel I get even more mpg gains.
The transmission tuning is the way Ford SHOULD have done it in the first place!! Thank you H&S!
That's what I must of heard.
I heard this screaming screeching sound as I got up to about 125 mph, I looked over and saw my window was open and thought it was odd, I didn't remember rolling it down.
"Warranty out the window"
Okay, sorry, sorry ...... I'm really bored at work and it's almost 5:00 so I'm getting a little giddy.
Yes they can.So if you run a tuner your warranty is basically out the window.
That's not completely true at all. There's been numerous people that have received warranty work after they've tuned/deleted their truck. Return everything back to stock and you have a decent shot of getting warranty work done. I've not read a single post anywhere stating someone was denied warranty because their dealer found out about the tuner.
Hell, there's a couple guys that have received complete new engines due to the original engine failing and never had any problems due to having tuned/deleted the truck. There's a member here who blew a turbo on his tuned/deleted truck and got everything fixed under warranty and had no problems.
All these posts stating you absolutely have ZERO warranty if you ever plug in a tuner are getting old. Just because some people are scared to tune shouldn't mean they should post all this negative crap that isn't exactly true to scare other people into not tuning their truck.
Now don't take this to the other extreme and assume I'm guaranteeing you warranty if you tune your truck. I'm only saying you have a good shot at having your truck fixed under warranty if you return it to stock and remove the tuner before taking it into the dealer to get fixed.
Bottom line still comes down to this - If you have any concerns about having a warranty you shouldn't tune/delete your truck. Just enjoy your truck the way it is and be happy. If the chance of having to pay for repairs out of pocket don't concern you, come join the tuned/deleted club. We're always accepting new members!
I agree with Andrew about it actually. The dealer where I bought it would probably check everytime I brought it in. The dealer closer to my house is real good and down to earth. I even asked them about working on it tuned, because I got to know the head diesel mechanic. He said he uses common sense, and I believe him completely.
